About the work

INTRODUCTIONAL HEADING

Are we humans still part of nature or are we outside of it, and if we are no longer a part of it, then where are we?

We try to obstruct nature through big geometrical structures with straight lines and sharp corners, but nature finds its way around these obstructions by forever developing, changing and adapting.

I have no plan behind my paintings, no outlook on how they will turn out. All I have is a starting off point, and then I just start painting. Messily and impatiently, as instinctively as I possibly can,

driven by the need to experiment with color.

I obstruct my own flow by adding elements that break a certain pattern, like buildings in a forest, then adjusting to that change. Every action influences the entire work, pushing it into a new direction constantly.
